Integrated Heating Control with ADAX Systems

2 min. readlast update: 01.31.2025

This article introduces a new feature in Resortnet that allows for integrated control of heating systems in houses equipped with ADAX thermostats. This integration leverages the ADAX API to automate temperature adjustments based on guest occupancy and preferences.

Benefits

  • Improved Guest Comfort: Ensure houses are at a comfortable temperature upon guest arrival and maintain consistent temperatures throughout their stay.
  • Energy Efficiency: Reduce energy consumption by automatically lowering temperatures during unoccupied periods.
  • Simplified Management: Effortlessly manage heating settings for multiple houses from a centralized Resortnet interface.

How it Works

The new feature introduces two functionalities:

  1. Automated Temperature Control:

    • Check-in: One hour before guest check-in, the system automatically sets the house temperature to the pre-defined "check-in" temperature.
    • Check-out: Conversely, during check-out, the temperature is adjusted to the "check-out" temperature. These temperatures can be configured within Resortnet.
    • Night Temperature Control: At 11 pm (configurable time in Resortnet settings), the system lowers the temperature in occupied houses to the pre-defined "night temperature" set in Resortnet.
    • Daytime Temperature Restoration: At 7 am (configurable time in Resortnet settings), the system automatically adjusts the temperature back to the "check-in" temperature for guest comfort.
    • Temperature Adjustment Monitoring: To ensure consistent night-time temperatures, the system checks every 2 hours (configurable time in Resortnet settings) and resets any manually increased temperatures back to the designated night temperature.
  2. Temperature Management Interface:

    • A new tab named "Third Party" has been added to the Resortnet interface (accessible at https://park.resortnet.nl/Park/ThirdParty/302 ).
    • This tab displays the current temperature for the house units.
    • Clicking on this tab allows you to:
      • View the current temperature.
      • Set the desired "check-in" and "check-out" temperatures that will be automatically applied during guest stays.
      • Set the night temperature

Additional Notes

  • Guests can still manually adjust the temperature within the house itself.
  • The system automatically resets the temperature to the night temperature every 2 hours to ensure energy efficiency during unoccupied periods.

Conclusion

This new integration with ADAX thermostats provides Resortnet with a powerful tool to streamline heating control, enhance guest comfort, and optimize energy consumption in your houses.
